A. Hifz Program
What is Hifz?
Hifz is the memorisation of the entire Holy Quran with correct pronunciation and Tajweed, preserving it in one's heart throughout life. It is among the noblest acts of worship in Islam and one of the greatest means of attaining closeness to Allah سبحانه وتعالى, as it establishes a lifelong relationship with His Divine Book.
The primary objective of Hifz is to seek the pleasure of Allah alone. Along with this immense spiritual reward, Allah grants countless blessings to those who dedicate themselves to memorising and living by the Quran.
Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Whoever recites the Qur'an and memorises it, making lawful what it makes lawful and unlawful what it makes unlawful, Allah will admit him to Paradise because of it and grant him intercession for ten of his family members who were destined for the Fire."
How the Hifz Programme Works (Grades 3–8)
The Hifz Programme follows a carefully structured four-phase journey, enabling students to progress systematically from learning the Arabic alphabet to becoming Huffaz of the Holy Quran. Each phase builds upon the previous one, ensuring a strong foundation in Tajweed, fluency, memorisation, and lifelong retention.
Phase 1 – Qaida & Tajweed
Learning to Read the Arabic Script
This is the entry stage of the Hifz Programme. Students begin by mastering the fundamentals of Quranic reading through Noorani Qaida and Tajweed.
- Recognition of Arabic letters
- Correct pronunciation of each letter
- Makharij (points of articulation)
- Application of basic Tajweed rules
- Reading connected words & sentences
- Spelling and decoding Arabic words
Duration: Approx. 1 academic year (Grade 3)
Phase 2 – Nazira
Developing Accurate and Fluent Quran Recitation
Upon successfully completing Qaida, students undergo assessment to evaluate reading accuracy and Tajweed understanding before promotion to Nazira.
- Fluent and accurate Quran recitation
- Correct application of Tajweed rules
- Voice modulation and confidence
- Smooth and consistent recitation
Duration: Approx. 1 academic year (Grade 4)
Phase 3 – Hifz
Memorising the Holy Quran
After completing Nazira and demonstrating fluent recitation, students undergo assessment before starting Hifz using internationally recognised practices.
Duration: Approx. 3 academic years (Grades 5–7)
Phase 4 – Daur
Revision and Perfection
Students enter the Daur phase to revise the entire Holy Quran repeatedly under experienced guidance.
- Complete Quran revision (10–20 complete revisions)
- Daily revision routines
- Long-term retention
- Beautiful and confident recitation
- Preparation for leading Taraweeh prayers
Duration: Approx. 1 academic year (Grade 8)
Phase 3: Three Essential Daily Components

Execution of the Hifz Programme
Alhamdulillah, the Hifz Department follows a well-organised monitoring and assessment system to ensure every student receives personalised guidance and maintains consistent progress.
Our System Includes
- Individual yearly, quarterly, monthly and daily learning targets.
- Daily progress updates through the MCB App.
- Dedicated Hifz, Nazira and Qaida Progress Diary.
- Separate assessment records for every student.
- Continuous monitoring and mentoring by teachers.
- Regular communication with parents.
- A two-layer assessment system.
- Periodic oral examinations conducted by qualified assessors.
Additional Learning Opportunities
To further strengthen memorisation and retention, students benefit from:
- Two-hour evening revision sessions: After Maghrib for hostel Hifz students. City Hifz students complete the same revision at home under parental supervision. Nazira and Qaida students are expected to revise for at least one hour daily.
- Forty-minute Fajr revision sessions: For hostel Hifz students. City Hifz students are encouraged to maintain the same routine at home.
- Girls' Hifz Section: A dedicated Girls' Hifz Section under the supervision of qualified Muallimas.
- Pre-Hifz Programme: Located at the AMES Campus for younger learners.
- Accelerated Pathway: For advanced Nazira students who demonstrate exceptional progress.

One of the proudest milestones in the history of Hifz Academy was the successful organisation of the Jalsa Dastar Bandi and Educational Awareness Conference. This special event celebrated the completion of Hifz by our students while promoting awareness among parents and the wider community about the importance and virtues of Quranic education.

Hafiz Adeeb Naushad (Grade 7 BH)
Alhamdulillah, in May 2025, Hafiz Adeeb Naushad became the first student in the history of Pearls Academy to complete the memorisation of the Holy Quran. This remarkable achievement represents a historic milestone for our institution and stands as a testament to the success of our Hifz Programme. His accomplishment continues to inspire our students to pursue excellence in Quran memorisation.
